So finished my Kenpo yesterday with my new TV.
I pushed harder on it this time, but it is still one of the easier workouts.
With a day of rest tomorrow, I am officially 15% done with P90X! Is that supposed to sound good?

So as I am doing my Shoulders and Arms routine and my TV starts going on the fritz. Oy. So I was able to get it to limp along for the last ten minutes of that routine, but it would simply not work for the Ab Ripper portion.
Not thrilled, but got a new TV. No excuses.

Missed a few posts, but not workouts.
Day 7 I rested. Sure I should have stretched, but this week I passed.
Day 8 I did a ‘tweak’ of the normal P90X routine and did the Core Synegistics instead of back and Chest. I think this will help me get more core work that I need.
Day 9 Plyo take two. I pushed harder, it was good. I get dizzy doing some of the turns which is hard for me. I still like it though, as I feel very drained at the end and the hour was worth it.

Well, made it through these two okay.
Definately had the best ab session to date, i know its only the third time, but still I seem to be “getting” it. When you aren’t used to working out, I think it is hard to know when and how hard to push. If you go to hard you might just flame out, but thats also an excuse to walk away from a workout having not done as much as you should have.
I press on, only one more workout before my day of rest and one week in the books.
Day #4 – Yoga X

DVD in, push play.. and…
So yeah… this was the first of the workouts that I didn’t care for. I think it is too long and if you have never done Yoga before ( like yours truly), too difficult to follow and do the positions that I don’t know.
BUT — I will do it when the program calls for it. I know once I understand the moves better that it will be more effective for me.
Day #2 – Plyometrics

Alarm goes off at 4:55AM. Sore. Already…
This workout was hard, but I could do almost all the moves. Granted I couldn’t do as many as them, but I think that it is a solid start. At the end I was sweating.
Now a word on food. Well, a lot of words on food….
I love to cook and I love to eat. So for me, the diet portion of P90X doesn’t seem as bad as working out every day.
But, what I need are some changes.
I am going to try to throw in some recipes from time to time. The good ones of course…
Day #1 – Chest and Back, Ab Ripper

Alarm goes off on a Sunday. Pop out of bed and its on.
So, I struggle. Badly. I can do pushups. Like the normal kind. Not these crazy ones. And generally I do some and stop for say a few weeks or more.
But the onslaught of these pushups is so hard. I do the best I can. I do something every time I am asked. Even if it isn’t the correct pushup. I don’t do the feet on chair ones because that would have just ended in a trip to the ER, and can’t we save that one till say day 60 or so?
So next up is Ab Ripper X. Yeah that name sounds nice and ominous.
Oy. At the end all I can say is. I am very very very inflexible. My abs muscles apparently left about a dozen beers ago and this is one exercise I am going to struggle with for a while.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it took me well beyond the ninety days to just do all the exercises in this one.
But I shall not give up. I survived and thats step one for me.
Day #0 – Time for a Change

Alright so I have been gaining and losing the same 20 pounds for years now. Time for change. Permanent change.
I have twins who need an in shape/healthy Dad. I owe it too them and my wife to get my ‘crap’ together and be serious about my weight.
So after being inundated with commercials going to and from work each day, I joined the P90X cult er crew.
The Plan:
I am going to do it every day as it tells me. I am going to follow the diet the very same way. I suppose I may ‘cheat’ on the diet, a bit… say four times or less over the course of ninety days.
This blog will be my accountability to the interwebs on my journey through this program. Maybe some poor sap will learn from my adventure.
And when I am done, maybe some overweight, out of shape, desk job person might find a bit of joy in my pain when they decide to make a change as well.
